Wildcats Welcomed Back

Mrs. Vallas welcomed students who were being dropped off in car line.
Winston Wildcat joined Student Council members in the commons area before students arrived at school.
GMS PTO members played music and danced during students’ arrivals.
Sixth graders Abigail Seimer and London Lomas showed their back to school spirit.
7th grader Avery Hall and her mother PTO member Lori Hall made sure everyone had a warm welcome.

This week, on Tuesday, February 23, the GMS Wildcats came back to school full time! This is a big deal, because it has been over 350 days since school has gone back 5 days.

In the morning, while the students were being dropped off, everyone was greeted with a warm welcome from the PTO and Student Council.  Student Council Vice-President Gaines Odom explained the group’s role in the morning festivities.  “We went outside and we welcomed back the students with music, and dancing, and signs.”

The motivational signs and music helped the students to get pumped up.  Students and faculty were dancing while walking into school, and parents were seen dancing in the car line! The students are all happy to finally be together in the same building.
